The Myth of Growing Up

No one truly grows up, we only learn how to act in public. Whether it be 14 or 44, you're still the same person throughout your life. Sure perception of the outer world changes, but the framework of the inner remains the same. Society in general infringes limitations that pander our behavior, thoughts, and emotions. As a human grows older it doesn't naturally change its behaviors or attitude, it only accepts the limitations society emphasizes in order to play an expected role.

Spend a good deal of time in isolation away from society and slowly the shackles that restrain truth and openness fall apart.

  1. I agree. Every adult has their own childish ways, from stubbornness to prejudice to subjectivity, etc. I know what you're talking about.

I'm going to follow this blog :)

  2. While I agree for the most part, there are events that can totally change who you are. I also believe that how you react to these events can be shaped by past events. Live and learn, etc. but you are who you are and I agree for the most part.
